See what is going on in the Third Grade classrooms of Ms. White and Ms. Lucius!!
At Cardinal Shehan, we work everyday to provide a peaceful and academically challenging environment for all students. We do this as Disciples for Christ in order to develop more disciples for God's army. By doing so, we believe that we are creating a peaceful world, one student at a time.
School will be closed for students on Monday, May 8, 2017 for Teacher Professional Development Day.

Ms. White's Language Arts Classes are excited about their reading journey.
The current novel we are reading is Charlotte's Web a children's novel by E.B. White. This novel will have the students on the edge of their seat as they read each chapter. The students will understand that:
1) mental computation can be used to add or subtract two-digit numbers.
2) when something is cut into equal pieces, each piece is a fraction of the whole.
3) geometric shapes can be identified by their attributes and have special names.
4) data can be collected and displayed on a graph.
The Written Assessment will be administered after Lesson 20
Attention: Students must study multiplication facts from 1-10 every night.
Attention Parents:
When students complete homework sheet, they must bracket and underline with a highlighter important keys words in the Problem of the Day. The homework should not be difficult because it is an extension of the Guided Practice done during class. Please go over homework daily to make sure it is completed and correct before the child hands it in the next day. If it is difficult, please contact or write a note in the agenda. In some lessons it is required that parents give an oral or written assessment on addition facts. The assessments will help with speed and memorization.
